Who is this
The person behind the mask
I came up through math. Two undergraduate degrees, one in mathematics and one in quantitative finance, and somewhere in the middle of all that I realized I liked the moment a model meets a real decision far more than the moment it finishes running. That is basically the job now, and I went back to school at night to get better at it.
The work splits in two. During the day I sit between the data and the people who have to act on it, which means a lot of careful analysis followed by a lot of plain English. After hours I write research code against market data, hunting signals that usually fall apart the second you test them. The few that survive are the reason I keep doing it.
Away from work I am still, somehow, at a computer. I build my own machines, and I genuinely enjoy the part where you spend an entire Saturday routing cables nobody will ever see. Games are the constant: long RPGs when I want a story worth arguing about, shooters when I want to turn my brain off and aim at something. The rest of the time I am in the gym, in a pool, on a trail, or losing slowly at poker while insisting the math was correct.

- Build and run the research pipeline for intraday equity signals, mostly markout work around the closing auction.
- Before that, crypto microstructure: testing features across assets, horizons and exchanges so nothing gets cherry picked on one lucky pair.
